Slant 6

Slant 6, whose moniker derives from a Dodge engine, first appeared within the Washington DC music community during the summer of 1992. The trio consisted of Myra Power from Lucky 13, Christina Billotte formerly of Autoclave, and Marge Marshall; together they recorded a three-song single issued by Dischord in 1993 while also spending much of the year on tour across the United States. Recorded in Washington DC, their debut full-length Soda Pop Rip Off featured production from Don Zientara, a longtime figure at Dischord, alongside Fugazi guitarist Ian MacKaye. The year 1995 saw the release of both their follow-up album Inzombia and a split 7-inch single. Following the group's dissolution that same year, Myra Power joined Tarot Bolero while Marge Marshall launched Babyteeth, her personal fashion label.
