Arno Carstens

Arno Carstens gained initial recognition in the rock scene through his role as frontman for the unpredictable indie group Springbok Nude Girls. The band originated in Stellenbosch, South Africa, during the mid-1990s, and fans quickly embraced them under the nickname Nudies for their adventurous blend of alternative rock, punk, ska, jazz, and metal elements. Following a lengthy hiatus beginning in 2001, Carstens pursued individual projects, with his first release The Hello Goodbye Boys showcasing a shift toward melodic compositions infused with orchestral touches in the adult alternative rock vein. He has sustained his connection to Springbok Nude Girls alongside these endeavors, as evidenced by their 2007 comeback record Peace Breaker.
