Ben Abraham, an Australian-born singer/songwriter now based in Los Angeles, crafts deeply introspective words alongside atmospheric indie folk that blends soulful tones with subtle electronic textures. He first appeared in 2014 via Sirens and has since joined forces with artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Demi Lovato, the Chicks, Sara Bareilles, and Kesha, for whom he co-authored the Grammy Award-winning track "Praying." His second studio album, Friendly Fire, arrived in 2022.

Born in Melbourne, Abraham initially aimed for a career as a screenwriter. As the offspring of a pair of Indonesian pop stars who achieved major success in the 1970s through their group Pahama, he was immersed in music from an early age. A multi-instrumentalist equipped with a soulful voice, he started composing original material in his late teens and early twenties during shifts at a hospital. Eight years afterward, an experienced Abraham completed his self-produced debut, which included input from Gotye, Tim Shiel, and Sara Bareilles. Issued to strong reviews on Secretly Canadian at the start of 2016, the resulting Sirens offered a heartfelt set of atmospheric and sincere indie folk-pop. Though much in demand as a songwriter and therefore occupied with external projects, a stretch of personal turbulence drew his attention back to his own catalog. Teaming with producer James Flannigan, known for work with Dua Lipa, he relocated to Barefoot Studios in L.A. to develop his next record. From 2021 onward he issued a series of singles, among them the cathartic "Like a Circle" and "War in Your Arms." Atlantic then put out his sophomore effort, Friendly Fire, in March 2022.
