Hailing from London, England, Tom Speight works as a singer and songwriter. His approach merges folk textures with contemporary pop and the close-knit feel of solo acoustic writing, resulting in an initial release via the independently issued Falling EP around the middle of 2016. A follow-up EP titled Love appeared toward the close of that same year. Also in 2016, three compositions he developed alongside indie folk-rock outfit Turin Brakes found a place on the group’s seventh album, Lost Property.

In 2017 Speight delivered three further EPs, each shaped by producer Chris Bond (Ben Howard, Justin Nozuka) and featuring contributions from Turin Brakes plus vocalist Lydia Clowes. Willow Tree surfaced in March, My My My arrived in July, and Waiting closed the sequence in December. Amid repeated headline runs through the U.K., he received airplay on BBC Radio and surpassed 20 million streams on digital platforms before the year concluded.
