Best Friends

Best Friends emerged in 2011 as a garage pop quartet hailing from Sheffield, England, when singer/guitarist Lewis Sharman joined forces with guitarist Tom Roper, bassist Ed Crisp, and drummer Jonny Gaymer. That same year the group put out its first EP, then secured a deal with Art Is Hard Records. The imprint issued the band’s label debut, the six-track Throwing Up EP, in 2012, a collection steeped in fuzzy surf tones and brazen indie pop. Late in 2012 Best Friends paired with hardcore punks Grazes for a split single, and in 2013 they returned with a double-A-side release of their own. In 2014 the quartet moved to veteran British indie Fat Cat Records, which released the band’s debut full-length, Hot. Reckless. Totally Insane., during summer 2015.
