Biography
Originating from Hawaii—his home state—guitarist, saxophonist, vocalist, and arranger Matt Catingub assembled the ensemble Big Kahuna and the Copa Cat Pack, fusing the island’s native musical traditions with polished, celebratory vintage swing. The band’s first full-length recording, Hawaiian Swing, surfaced in 1999. Shake Those Hula Hips followed two years afterward.
