Bill Mobley

Hailing from Memphis, this trumpeter emerged alongside such figures as James Williams, Mulgrew Miller, and Donald Brown, though his recognition and visibility have remained more modest than theirs. Even so, Mobley commands attention as a bold principal soloist whose wide register lends force and frequent emotional depth to his lines. His work surfaces on Bill Easley’s 1991 album First Call.
