Biography
Renowned trumpeter Terell Stafford gained his strongest recognition from a half-decade of touring and recording with Bobby Watson in the quintet Horizon. After earning a degree from the University of Maryland, he directed the bands program at both Cheney and Temple University. Beyond those years with Watson, his sideman work has encompassed Herbie Mann, Shirley Scott, and Kenny Barron, among others. Stafford stepped out as a leader with his first album on Candid in 1995. The resulting discography features Time to Let Go that same year, followed by Centripetal Force in 1996 and Fields of Gold in 2000.
