Blindspott

Emerging from Waitakere, New Zealand, the alternative metal outfit Blindspott came together in 1997. Vocals were handled by Damian Alexander in the original configuration, which also included Gareth Fleming handling bass duties, Marcus Powell on guitar, and Shelton Woolright behind the drums; over time Dave McDermott assumed bass responsibilities while Brandon Reihana joined as an additional guitarist. The group's debut effort, issued under their own name in 2002, entered New Zealand's national chart in the top position and achieved triple platinum status. Extensive touring, with performances stretching to Japan and Australia, preceded the recording of their follow-up album End the Silence. Upon its release, that record likewise claimed the number one spot immediately.
