Dark new Day

Dark New Day came together at the start of 2005 and was promptly presented as a supergroup within the active rock scene, owing to the fact that its lineup drew from several established bands. Guitarist and vocalist Clint Lowery had co-founded Sevendust, while his brother Corey Lowery handled bass after stints in Stuck Mojo and Stereomud; Troy McLawhorn contributed guitar as a former member of Doubledrive, and Brett Hestla, who sang and played guitar, arrived after fronting Virgos Merlot and serving as Creed’s touring bassist. Will Hunt rounded out the group on drums following earlier work with Skrape and Tommy Lee. The outfit first appeared with a contribution to the soundtrack of the spring 2005 horror movie House of Wax, then delivered its full-length debut album, Twelve Year Silence, the next June. Subsequent road work included dates alongside Crossfade and Seether.
