Scotland gave birth to every member of the five-piece blues group Blues ‘N’ Trouble, which Tim Elliott (harmonica and vocals) and John Bruce (guitar) assembled in the opening years of the 1980s. Repeated changes in personnel marked the band’s early amateur period until, midway through the decade, the lineup stabilized as a hard-driving, widely respected unit. Throughout the mid-1980s the group served as opening act for a string of visiting American artists that included Robert Cray, B.B. King, Charlie Musselwhite, Pinetop Perkins, and Junior Wells. For the next two decades Blues ‘N’ Trouble kept a demanding itinerary, playing countless British venues as well as festivals on several continents. At the start of the 00s, Tim Elliott fronted the quartet of Mike Park (guitar and vocals), Alan Scott (bass), and drummer ‘Lucky’ Lox Lovell.
