Formed in 2008, the Glasgow quartet of Alan Nimmo on vocals and guitar, Lindsay Coulson on bass, Dave Raeburn on drums, and Dale Storr on keyboards spent their initial years playing the British blues circuit. Their appearance at the Monahan Blues Festival in 2010 generated enough momentum to elevate the group’s standing. In 2011 they issued their first album, Take My Hand, which drew favorable notices from both critics and an expanding audience and earned the band the British Blues Award for Best Album. After two more years of intensive touring, they delivered their second album, Standing in the Shadows, in 2013; by then Wayne Proctor had taken over drums and Bennett Holland was handling keyboards. The record broadened their reach, securing shows worldwide and a 34-date support slot with John Mayall. When Holland departed, Bob Fridzema joined on keys, and the revised lineup recorded Reaching for the Light, released in May 2015. The album again attracted strong reviews and placed on year-end lists compiled by Classic Rock and The Blues. While promoting the release, the band mounted a headline U.K. tour whose Glasgow performance was documented on the 2016 live album Live. In 2017 Jonny Dyke replaced Fridzema on keyboards.
