Emerging into the world on May 20, 1944, on the island of Java within the (then) Dutch East Indies, the iconic singer/songwriter Boudewijn de Groot first gained attention as a protest singer. Renowned throughout The Netherlands for his extensive body of work, he is especially associated with tracks including "Welterusten, Meneer de President," "Land van Maas en Waal," "Avond," and "Jimmy." Over the course of his career he has issued dozens of albums while also writing scores for film and television projects.
