Biography
Cachemire, a French ensemble, fuses the raw energy of punk with timeless rock & roll elements. The outfit first stepped into the spotlight via their 2014 release Photochope-moi, before refining their approach on the 2018 effort Qui Est la Punk?. In 2021, they delivered Dernier Essai as their third full-length, showcasing an expanded stylistic palette.
The band's origins trace back to 2012, when they issued the independent four-track EP Blonde Box. They secured a deal with Naïve, based in Paris, and partnered with Big Beat Records from Britain to put out Photochope-moi two years later. A 2016 joint single alongside Dick Rivers and Didier Wampas, titled "Qu'est-ce qu'on attend?," preceded the arrival of Qui Est la Punk? in 2018. With "Influenceur" as its lead track from 2021, Dernier Essai featured intricate arrangements alongside its diverse sonic character.
