Biography
Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canadian singer-songwriter Calvin Love merges lo-fi textures, bedroom indie aesthetics, and lush, darkly romantic pop. He sharpened his abilities across a five-year stretch performing with assorted bands in Los Angeles, then headed back to Edmonton to complete his debut solo album New Radar, issued in 2012 on Autumn Tone Records, the Aquarium Drunkard imprint. Arising within the same energetic Canadian milieu that produced peers Mac DeMarco, Alex Calder, and Sean Nicholas Savage, Love earned notice as a pop stylist distinguished by atmospheric leanings and a sharp melodic sense. Once extensive touring concluded, he reentered the studio to craft his second album Super Future, which appeared in June 2015.
