Biography
Formed as an indie rock quartet, Carroll draws its name not from any person but from Carroll Avenue in St. Paul, the Minneapolis street where the band’s members first gathered in 2011. Brian Hurlow, Max Kulicke, Charlie Rudoy, and Charles McClung issued their opening release, the self-released EP Needs, in 2012. Demo recordings for a debut album subsequently reached producer Jon Low, who arranged an introduction to E1 Entertainment. The label issued the resulting self-titled album, produced by Low, in 2015.
