Celo & Abdi

Formed in 2008, the German rap duo Celo & Abdi emerged from Frankfurt am Main, built around Erol Huseinćehajić, who carries Bosnian heritage, and Abderrahim el Ommali, of Moroccan descent. Both aspiring rappers, the pair first crossed paths and struck up a friendship during shifts at the same call center. Their 2011 mixtape Mietwagentape gained traction and secured them a contract with Azzlackz. The following year brought their debut full-length effort, Hinterhofjargon, which included appearances by regional peers Haftbefehl, Veysel, and Xatar. In 2014 the duo delivered their second Azzlackz studio album, Akupunktur.
