Biography
Central Line, an ensemble formed in London, ranked among the stronger British soul groups to emerge during the early years of the 1980s. Featuring Linton Breckles on vocals and percussion, bassist and vocalist Camelle Hinds, keyboardist Lipson Francis, and guitarist Henry Defoe, the band issued several modestly performing singles and albums via Mercury. Their leading American success arrived with the 1981 release “Walking Into Sunshine,” which reached the R&B Top 20 and attained a peak position of 14.
