Atlanta-based R&B quartet Cherish first appeared in 2003 via the Jermaine Dupri-produced single "Miss P." A recording contract had already been finalized with the Warner Bros. subsidiary Ashanti Records, yet The Moment—their intended debut project—was ultimately pulled from release for reasons that remained private. Even so, during the mid-2000s peak of Atlanta’s “snap music” scene, the group resurfaced in summer 2006 with the hit single “Do It to It,” which maintained a multi-week presence inside the Top 20 on both Billboard’s Pop and R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The four King siblings—Farrah, Neosha, and twins Felisha and Fallon—had begun harmonizing between the ages of two and six, though they did not turn professional until they were between seven and eleven. Following their departure from Warner Bros., the sisters developed a productive partnership with Atlanta hitmaker Jazze Pha, leading them to sign with his Sho’Nuff Records imprint and secure distribution via Capitol Records. In support of “Do It to It,” Cherish posted an online tutorial demonstrating the accompanying snap dance. Their Capitol full-length, Unappreciated, arrived in August 2006.
