Chetes

Drawing from the work of Brian Wilson, ELO, and the Beatles, Gerardo Garza—better known as Chetes—delivers an expansive, luminous, and ambitious strain of Mexican pop. After his stints in the alternative pop/rock outfits Zurdok and Vaquero, the artist launched his solo path in 2006 with the EMI release Blanco Facil. Cut in Nashville alongside Ken Coomer, once of Uncle Tupelo and Wilco, the album spotlighted the track “Completamente,” which earned a Best Rock Song nomination at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards.
