DLD

After securing victory in a Battle of the Bands contest staged by Órbita FM in 2002, the modern rock outfit DLD began ascending the rock charts the following year. The lineup comprises Paco on vocals and guitar, Eric on guitar, Edgar on bass, and Rodrigo on drums. Their sonic approach draws from rock styles spanning the 1970s to the 1990s, with INXS, Hendrix, and Pearl Jam named as primary influences. Singles such as "Noches de Vinyl," "Dixie," and "Loco Corazón" from the debut album secured substantial airplay on Mexican indie radio. The sophomore release, the live album Modjo, spotlighted the single "Suicido #3," which expanded the band's reach to audiences in Argentina and Chile. Record executives and promoters compelled the group to shorten its original name, Dildo, to the abbreviation DLD. The third album, Ventura, yielded the greatest commercial traction to date, placing DLD on Mexican airplay charts and broadening its following while confirming the band as a notable force in Mexican indie rock.
