Chevy Woods

Chevy Woods, once performing under the name Kev tha Hustla, first attracted attention while serving as hypeman for Pittsburgh-born Wiz Khalifa, though Woods had already launched his independent career by the late 2000s through consistent releases of mixtapes and EPs. Born Kevin Woods, the rapper had been writing rhymes since childhood. He and Khalifa met in the early 2000s, establishing a lasting partnership that extended across multiple projects. In 2008, the same year Woods became a member of Khalifa’s Taylor Gang, he issued The Corner’s Correspondent, launching a long sequence of mixtapes that stretched through the second half of the 2010s. One notable appearance came on Khalifa’s 2012 album O.N.I.F.C., where Woods featured on the track “Medicated,” later awarded gold certification by the RIAA. His debut commercial solo project arrived in 2015 with The 48 Hunnid Project, an EP that entered Billboard’s Heatseekers chart.
