Clone

Clone first emerged in 1992 when guitarist and vocalist Xtra Schneider and drummer Mick Snake formed the group as a side project while both were still members of Meth 25 in Philledipha. After the pair relocated to San Francisco in 1993, the project gained momentum four years later with the addition of bassist Liz E Beta, guitarist Count Vlad, and synth and sampler Android the Mechanical Boy. Embracing a synth-pop and experimental direction within the Bay Area’s emerging scene, the lineup underwent a change when Kell Fiyah assumed synthesizer duties following Android’s departure. Not long afterward, the band issued its debut full-length album, Not Feeling Quite Like Yourself Today?, through Evil Eye Records in 1998.
