Biography
Originating in Pesaro, a coastal Italian town, the post-punk-inspired trio Soviet Soviet comprises vocalist/bassist Andrea Giometti, vocalist/guitarist Alessandro Costantini, and drummer Alessandro Ferri. The group formed in 2008 and gained recognition the next year through steady live performances and self-released singles. After devoting time to refining their approach, Soviet Soviet issued the Summer, Jesus EP in 2011; later that year the same EP combined with an untitled 2009 EP to create the compilation Nice. The band resumed studio work in 2012 and completed their debut album Fate, issued by Felte Records in November 2013. Felte reissued Nice on vinyl and as a digital download in 2016, just before Soviet Soviet’s second album. That album, Endless, appeared late in the year and included a collaboration with electronic artist Yppah.
