Biography
Whispering Sons, an uncompromising Belgian post-punk ensemble, took shape in Brussels as a five-piece in 2010 and surfaced during the early 2010s with a dark, immersive approach to the style. Regional recognition arrived via their 2015 debut EP Endless Party, whose nervy sonic emissions recalled post-punk trailblazers such as the Birthday Party and Suicide. Merging industrial, avant-punk, and no wave elements, the group’s experimental approach and frenetic performances cemented their status among the area’s most explosive live acts. Their first full-length album, Image, appeared in 2018 and merged the widescreen cinematics of late-period Cure with the fraught tension of AFI. Three years later, intent on channeling the raw force of their stage shows, they delivered the unrelenting sophomore effort Several Others in 2021 while continuing to sharpen their jagged yet atmospheric sound.
