Clubroot

Originating from England, Clubroot surfaced as a dubstep producer whose atmospheric approach often drew comparisons to Burial, with his first full-length album appearing in 2009. Born Dan Richmond, he hails from St. Albans, England, and first absorbed influences from drum'n'bass figures such as Ed Rush and Optical before shifting focus to the emerging dubstep sound. After signing with the San Francisco-based imprint Lo Dubs, he issued his self-titled debut album Clubroot in 2009. At roughly the same moment, he delivered a Radio 1 mix on Mary Anne Hobbs' program, an event that markedly elevated his profile, above all through extensive online downloads.
