Biography
Formed in January 2004, Cobra Skulls brought a sharp, fast-paced strain of punk rock out of Reno, Nevada. The lineup—drummer Chad Cleveland, singer-bassist Devin Peralta, and guitarist Charlie Parker—had first crossed paths as University of Nevada students a couple of years earlier and later united over a common admiration for 7 Seconds, NOFX, and Bad Religion. Their initial recording, the Eat Your Babies demo, preceded a 2006 split seven-inch with local act Beercan! released on Humaniterrorist Records. Also in 2006, the band put out the EP Draw Muhammad; combined with steady local performances, the release began drawing attention inside Reno clubs. Red Scare Industries took notice and inked the group in early 2007, issuing the debut album Sitting Army by mid-year—an intense, pointed set of punk tracks that blended the styles of Against Me! and the Living End with the Clash and TSOL. Guitarist Adam Beck joined for the ensuing tour dates, which featured support slots alongside the Loved Ones and Against Me!.
