Cokelat

Indonesian pop outfit Cokelat took its name from the worldwide favorite sweet known as chocolate and first assembled in Bandung during 1996. Although frequent personnel shifts marked the group’s history, it kept issuing recordings and steadily expanded a loyal listenership across the surrounding region. The debut album, Untuk Bintang, reached stores in 2000 after one track had already appeared on a compilation release. Their sophomore effort, Rasa Baru, followed in 2001 and was later reissued in a special-edition package the next year. Steady productivity continued in 2003 and 2004, bringing the studio albums Segitiga and Dari Hati plus a contribution to the Ian Antono tribute collection. In 2006 the band confirmed its standing with the best-of set Tak Pernah Padam, while also delivering Untukmu Indonesiaku, a gathering of Indonesian national hymns.
