Biography
Blending the complex guitar textures associated with Television and the catchy low-fidelity approach of Guided by Voices, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania indie rock band Cold Fronts draws from earlier eras while shaping its own material. Craig Almquist and Jake Hammill established the group after first crossing paths as residents of New York. Together with Alex Smith, Michael Fickes, and Septon Eisenhart, the musicians relocated to Philly, taking any available employment so they could channel their full attention and effort into building the band. Following a series of performances throughout the East Coast, they revealed intentions to issue their first EP, Pretty American, during spring 2012. Joe Killian then assumed the drum chair in place of Smith, and the follow-up EP Forever appeared on Sire Records in fall 2014.
