Biography
Cold Pumas emerged in 2008 when brothers Oliver and Patrick Fisher teamed with Dan Reeves—the founder of Faux Discx—to fuse post-punk, Krautrock, shoegaze, and experimental indie rock into a style marked by equal parts propulsion and introspection. The group, originally based in Brighton, England, soon issued singles and EPs that featured collaborations with Male Bonding, Women, and Friendo along with releases via Italian Beach Babes and Upset the Rhythm. Several of those recordings later surfaced on the 2011 compilation 7"s, 12"s, Comps and B-Sides, which preceded the band’s first full-length album Persistent Malaise by one year. Cold Pumas then entered a hiatus during which several members relocated to London. Bassist Lindsay Corstorphine joined in time for the recording of the second album, The Hanging Valley, issued jointly by Faux Discx and Gringo in August 2016.
