Biography
In 1969 Capitol put out a little-known album by The Common People that leaned into the murkier edges of psychedelia. The record warrants its lack of notice, since attempts to enliven the tracks through strings, horns, and the electric keyboard textures common in the late 1960s still left the songs feeling flat and devoid of melodic spark, rarely escaping an overall somber tone.
