Biography
Concave Scream, a rock band from Singapore, helped open doors for subsequent local groups during the early stages of the nation’s independent rock community by issuing their first album in 1995. Schoolmates Sean Lam, who supplied lead vocals and guitar, and Pann Lim, who handled lead guitar and vocals, formed the outfit in 1994. That same year they issued a self-funded, self-titled debut that gradually built an audience among English-language rock listeners in Singapore, especially critics. The resulting attention produced the commercial breakthrough of their second album, Erratic (1997), whose several radio hits placed the band at the forefront of Singapore’s rock scene. Three (1999) sustained this momentum, yet seven more years passed before the group returned with their fourth album, Horizons (2006), another self-financed project released independently.
