Biography
Formed in 2002, The Observatory operates as a Singapore-based experimental rock ensemble that pulls from electronica, space rock, progressive rock, and further genres. Its members include Leslie Low on vocals, guitar, programming, bass, and harmonica, Vivian Wang on vocals, piano, keyboards, melodica, and percussion, Dharma on guitar, Evan Tan on programming, keyboards, melodica, and percussion, Victor Low on guitar, bass, and glockenspiel, and Ray Aziz on drums and percussion. The band issued its first recording, the album Time of Rebirth, in 2004. Additional releases followed with Blank Walls in 2005 and A Far Cry from Here in 2007.
