Damas

Damas belongs to the neo-roots reggae movement together with fellow artists Chronixx and Protoje. Christopher Williams entered the world in Kingston, Jamaica, where he spent his formative years observing Sizzla and Bounty Killa whenever they appeared at neighborhood sound system events, the majority of which were run by the local crew Mighty Emperor. After receiving a business degree in 2006, he promptly discovered that a conventional office routine held no appeal. He began recording demos and performing live shows, which paved the way for his official debut in 2010 via the single “Rasta Universal Love.” The Italian reggae group Mellow Mood brought him in for their 2012 release “Free Marijuana,” after which Damas issued his solo EP The Natty Take Ova in 2013 on the Swedish label WeedyG Soundforce. A European tour took place the next year.
