Biography
Decisive Pink formed as an electronic art-pop duo pairing Russian experimental artist Kate NV with Los Angeles-based Angel Deradoorian, a longtime solo performer who once belonged to Dirty Projectors. The pair generates playful, futuristic tracks on an array of analog synthesizers while delivering pointed observations about present-day communication and consumer culture. Their first full-length release, Ticket to Fame, surfaced in 2023.
Kate NV and Angel Deradoorian launched their initial collaboration inside a mutual friend’s Köln, Germany studio, a space packed with synthesizers that suggests the interior of a spacecraft. Sessions moved onward to Los Angeles, where the vocals were tracked at Deradoorian’s rehearsal space. After signing to Fire Records, Decisive Pink issued the single “Haffmilch Holiday” in 2022, complete with a Jane Weaver remix. The full-length Ticket to Fame followed in 2023, folding together minimal wave, classical, and pop influences.
