Biography
Hailing from Gary, Indiana, Diggs Duke works as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter. Before establishing himself in Washington, D.C., he enrolled at Northeastern University in Boston and pursued additional studies at the nearby Berklee College of Music along with the New England Conservatory. Early short-form recordings that merged jazz and R&B through unconventional approaches, among them Mass Exodus and Mass Exodus, Vol. 2, first surfaced via his Bandcamp page. Toward the close of 2012, "Nine Winning Wives" was featured on Brownswood Bubblers Nine, a compilation issued by BBC DJ Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label. The next year saw the Bandcamp release of Gravity, a subsequent four-track EP. Offering for Anxious, his initial full-length album, appeared on Brownswood at the end of 2013.
