Biography
In subterranean music circles, Melbourne, Australia's Disembowelment continue to command respect as doom-grind trailblazers. Their entire recorded output comprises just two widely circulated demo tapes—Mourning September in 1990 and Deep Sensory Procession into Aural Fate in 1991—plus the 1992 EP Dusk and the 1993 album Transcendence into the Peripheral, the latter two having become genre benchmarks after appearing on Relapse. The lineup of Renato Gallina on vocals and guitar, Jason Kells on guitar, Matthew Skarajew on bass, and Paul Mazziotta on drums then dissolved because of widening musical disagreements, despite never having played a single live show.
