Biography
Divine Styler, an Islamic and Afrocentric rapper, launched his professional recording path on Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate label. The two albums he delivered there—Word Power in 1989 and Spiral Walls Containing Autumns of Light in 1991—placed far greater weight on lyrical craft than on musical intricacy. Following a multi-year absence from releasing music, he aligned himself with the SoleSides collective and supplied guest verses for Styles of Beyond, Everlast, the Beat Junkies, and Quannum. He also completed his third album, Wordpower, Vol. 2: Directrix, which appeared in 1999.
