Biography
Donna Vivino has built a multifaceted career as an actress, singer, and dancer, establishing herself as a seasoned Broadway artist while also pursuing jazz-tinged pop and classic standards on record. Born in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, she first encountered music through her father, guitarist Jimmy Vivino, who has long led the house band on Conan O’Brien’s show. Having performed vocally from childhood onward, she stepped onto the Broadway stage in 1987, portraying Young Cosette in the original production of Les Miserables. Following her graduation from Barnard College, she sustained her stage work with appearances in the off-Broadway productions Grease and Stars of David. Her Broadway résumé later included roles in Hairspray, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, and Wicked, the last of which she also joined on tour. In 2014 she issued her first solo album, Beautiful Dreamer, supported by contributions from her father Jimmy Vivino and from pianist and arranger Mitch Forman.
