For the bulk of his professional life Eddy Louiss fronted his personal ensemble in France, yet he twice produced standout recordings on organ. Between 1961 and 1963 he contributed vocals to the Double Six, performed on piano with Johnny Griffin through the mid-1960s, and collaborated at intervals with Kenny Clarke and Jean-Luc Ponty. His greatest renown stems from the 1971 album Dynasty made with Stan Getz and from the 1994 duo session with pianist Michel Petrucciani issued on Dreyfus.
