Formed in 1993, the Finnish pop outfit Egotrippi features Mikki Kauste on vocals and keyboards, Knipi handling vocals and guitar, Skele on guitar and vocals, Anssi Maasalo playing bass and singing, plus Sampo Haapaniemi on drums and vocals. Their self-titled debut arrived in 1995, followed by Superego in 1997 and Alter Ego the next year, the last of these nearly entering the Finnish albums top ten. Later came Helsinki-Hollola in 2000, which yielded the top-twenty single “Koivuniemen Herra,” and the 2001 double-disc B-sides anthology Moulaa!. The 2003 release Matkustaja finally cracked the top ten, with its title track peaking at number eleven. Capitalizing on that momentum, the greatest-hits set 20 Suosikkia appeared in 2004. The subsequent album Vielä Koittaa Uusi Aika became their first chart-topper in 2006 and included the top-ten single “Nämä Ajat Eivät Ole Meitä Varten.” Maailmanloppua Odotellessa, issued in 2008, reached number two and spawned the singles “Hyvästi Naiset” and “Valssi.”
