Haloo Helsinki!

Haloo Helsinki! formed in their teenage years as a rock outfit based in Helsinki, Finland, with Elli Haloo handling vocals and bass alongside guitarists Jere Marttila and Leo Hakanen plus drummer Jukka Soldan. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2008 after the group signed a major-label deal with EMI Music Finland and began working with producer Erno Laitinen. The record climbed to number six on the Finnish albums chart, establishing the band as a lasting presence in the country’s pop scene throughout the following decade. Their next two efforts, Enemmän Kuin Elää in 2009 and III in 2011, matched that early momentum and spawned several charting singles, chief among them the radio-topping “Maailman Toisella Puolen,” which reached number one during summer 2011 and later earned platinum status. Maintaining their energetic blend of pop and rock, the quartet scored consecutive number-one albums with Maailma on Tehty Meitä Varten in 2013 and Kiitos Ei Ole Kirosana the next year, both issued through Sony’s Ratas Music Group affiliate. The group’s strong live draw led to the 2015 release of Arena, their first concert recording. Haloo Helsinki! returned to original material in 2017 with the studio album Hulluuden Highway.
