In Finland, Sanni has established herself as a leading electro-pop figure, entering the Top Ten with her opening album Sotke Mut upon its 2013 arrival. Her bright, childlike vocal delivery then powered a run of consecutive chart-toppers, among them the self-titled 2016 set that housed the number one singles "Että Mitähän Vittua" and "Oo Se Kun Oot." Fourth album Trippi, issued in 2019, supplied two further leaders in "Pornoo" and "Jacuzzi." While she continued to register frequent Top Five entries, the funk-infused dance cut "Pettäjä" restored her to the summit of the Finnish singles chart in 2021.

Sanni Mari Elina Kurkisuo came into the world in Lohja, Finland, in 1993. Music drew her attention early, given her mother's own singing experience. As a teenager she appeared in the 2012 feature Miss Farkku-Suomi, a drama placed in 1977 that explored punk's reach within a small Finnish community. Warner Music Finland released her debut album Sotke Mut in 2013; it climbed to number nine on the national album chart en route to platinum certification, while the opening single "Prinsessoja ja Astronautteja" reached the Top Three. Momentum built further with the 2015 follow-up LELU, which the Top Three ballad "2080-Luvulla" propelled all the way to number one. That same year her featured turn on Villegalle's "Lähtisitkö" topped the singles ranking, and she joined Robin on "Miten Eskimot Suutelee?" from the duets album Yhdessä. She also participated in the fourth season of the music reality series Vain Elämää before December arrived.

SANNI reclaimed the top album position for the artist in 2016. The project introduced her first self-credited number one single, "Että Mitähän Vittua," plus the follow-up chart leader "Oo Se Kun Oot" featuring rapper Paperi T. Still operating through Warner Music Finland, she delivered her fourth long-player, Trippi, in 2019; supported by the Top Three singles "Hei Kevät" and "Pommi (Pampampam)," it again led the Finnish album chart. The chart-topping single "Pettäjä" arrived in 2021.
