Emerging from Finland with a distinctive pop sensibility, singer-songwriter Juha Tapio achieved mainstream breakthrough status in 2003 through his third studio album, Mitä Silmät Ei Nää. Born February 5, 1974, in Ylistaro, Finland, he issued his first full-length recording, Tuulen Valtakunta, in 1999. His next project, Tästä Kaikesta, followed in 2001 and produced the single “Syksy.” The 2003 release Mitä Silmät Ei Nää propelled Tapio into the Finnish albums Top Ten while generating the singles “Mitä Silmät Ei Nää,” “Ukkosta ja Ullakolla,” and “Haaveilija.” Issued two years later, Ohikiitävää matched that momentum by reaching number 11 on the national chart. Both Kaunis Ihminen (2006) and Suurenmoinen Elämä (2008) climbed to number two, the latter housing the Top Five single “Kaksi Puuta.”
