Biography
Following the 2007 release of Spells, The Comas entered a period of inactivity that led co-founder Andy Herod to depart Brooklyn in pursuit of fresh inspiration. Time spent across several months in North Carolina sparked the initial ideas for a new endeavor, ideas that expanded during a subsequent two-month period in California before he headed back toward the Atlantic seaboard. Once he established residence in Asheville, NC, Herod tracked his first album under the name Electric Owls at Echo Mountain studio, where he was joined by Comas guitarist Jason Caperton, Band of Horses and Archers of Loaf veteran Matt Gentling, and Gutter Twins drummer Cully Symington. Vagrant Records issued the completed album, Ain't Too Bright, in May 2009.
