Biography
Electric Würms delves into the psychedelic prog textures of the 1970s as a side endeavor from Flaming Lips members Steven Drozd and Wayne Coyne. After prolonged discussions about pursuing a more improvisational and expansive sound, the pair assembled the group by bringing in Charlee and Chance Cook, Will Hicks, and Dom Marcoaldi, who perform together as the Nashville, Tennessee band Linear Downfall. Departing from their primary band’s dynamic, Drozd fronts Electric Würms while Coyne occupies a secondary role. The project surfaced in 2014 with the album Musik, Die Schwer Zu Twerk, which included a version of the Yes classic “Heart of the Sunrise.”
