Biography
Emer Mayock's expressive melodies on flute and whistle have established her among the leading voices in traditional Irish music. Born in the small village of Ross, Ireland, near Castlebar in County Mayo, she first took up the tin whistle at age five. Mastery of both that instrument and the timber flute followed during her teenage years. Her earliest air was composed at fourteen. Nine years afterward, at the age of twenty-three, she issued her debut album, Merry Bits Of Timber.
