Biography
Forever Anti Pop serves as the performing identity for Tony Macklin, born Antionia Macklin, Jr., a creator who moves across R&B and rap landscapes while shifting between vocal melodies and rhythmic delivery. His upbringing began in Tallahassee, Florida, before continuing in Atlanta, Georgia, the city where he composed his initial track during adolescence under the influence of Kanye West and T-Pain. After securing a deal with Interscope, Macklin issued his first project, the six-track EP Finessin the Rhythm, upon turning 21 in 2017. He handled writing or co-writing duties on every selection, drawing support from emerging talents David Miklatsky, also known as David Sabastian, and Eugene Goring, along with Dwight Watson, whose earlier credits included contributions for Timbaland, Plies, and Mindless Behavior. Even with the chosen stage name, the EP’s sound aligned closely with urban contemporary programming.
