Biography
Originating from Sweden, pianist, singer, and songwriter Frida Hyvönen issued her first album, Until Death Comes, throughout Scandinavia in 2005 through Licking Fingers, the label run by the Concretes. American imprint Secretly Canadian signed her and handled a 2006 reissue of the debut, which she promoted by sharing stages with fellow Swedes José González and Jens Lekman. To shape her follow-up, Hyvönen recruited producer Jari Haapalainen and assembled an extensive roster of supporting players, yielding a richer and more fully arranged sound on the record that arrived as Silence Is Wild in November 2008.
