Hello Saferide

Annika Norlin stands as the central creative force behind Hello Saferide’s upbeat pop and rock sound. A Swedish music journalist and radio DJ, she began her songwriting efforts in the early 2000s. Although she had composed material previously, no releases appeared until 2004, when she posted her initial recordings online. Label attention followed swiftly, leading Razzia Records to issue the debut album Introducing... Hello Saferide in September 2005. A supporting live band formed soon afterward and accompanied the project on tours across Asia, Brazil, and Europe.

Alongside various EPs and singles, Norlin issued a Swedish-language album under the name Säkert! in 2007; the record earned gold status and captured two Grammis, Sweden’s equivalent of the Grammy Award. Building on that achievement, she resumed work under the Hello Saferide banner, shifting away from the winsome twee pop of the first album toward a sharper, more aggressive style driven partly by prominent electric guitar. More Modern Short Stories from Hello Saferide surfaced in 2008, showcasing the updated approach along with multiple contributions from Popsicle’s Andreas Mattsson.
